The results iimg 1850n IDEAL have both the potential to influence and possibly reshape treatment and healthcare practices throughout Europe, and to provide leads that can be exploited by the health, food, and pharmaceutical industries. We will make an inventory of the current health care practices and to what extent they are based on the scientific results. Based on this we will seek ways to disseminate the IDEAL results via all available and relevant networks and organizations. We will also use the contacts with industries to facilitate the exploitation of the results with IDEAL.

Fenni Rusli defended her thesis

fennirusli promotieAugust 29, Fenni Rusli defended her thesis "Diet-induced phenotypic plasticity during aging" succesfully at the Wageningen University, The Netherlands. Wilma Steegenga was her co-promotor and Bas Zwaan and Eline Slagboom were part of the committee.

Giuseppe Passarino in D-Donna magazine la repubblica

Dr Giuseppe Passarino has been interviewed by weekly magazine D-Donna la repubblica (published on the 21st of March 2015). The journalist asks about on how we are supposed to change our lifestyle after the findings on the molecular basis of longevity. The article is mainly about the diet, which should be very poor of animal proteins, because they act on the IGF1/INS axis and make cells to get old faster.

The Franceschi and Passarino group members participated to many dissemination initiatives to the general audience, including Italian broadcast television RAI3 (TV show “Elisir” on health, medicine and wellbeing), EXPO 2015 Milan (www.expo2015.org), and Italian newspapers such as Repubblica and Il Corriere della Sera.
